ADM, a global leader in innovative solutions from nature, has announced the opening of a new destination marketing office in Nairobi, Kenya, in a strategic move to strengthen its presence across East Africa and enhance access to its global supply chain network for customers throughout the region.

Recognized as one of East Africa’s leading trade and commercial hubs, Kenya serves as a strategic gateway to regional markets, particularly for food and feed ingredients. Through its new Nairobi office, ADM aims to bring its extensive portfolio of food ingredients, feedstuffs and animal nutrition solutions closer to customers, reinforcing its position as a trusted partner to the region’s food and feed industries.

The new office will focus on destination marketing activities, including market intelligence, local merchandising, and storage and distribution services. These capabilities will enable ADM to connect regional demand more efficiently with its global sourcing, transportation, logistics and risk management networks.

“East Africa is home to more than 500 million people and represents a high-growth market, with rising demand for quality food and feed ingredients and integrated supply chain solutions,” said Patrick Heijbroek, Vice President, Global Trade and Head of Origination, EMEA. He added that the expansion would strengthen ADM’s ability to support the region’s growing agricultural and livestock sectors by linking local market needs with its global origination network.

Building on more than a decade of operations in Kenya, the new office represents another milestone in ADM’s broader African expansion strategy. It complements the company’s investments in human nutrition innovation laboratories in Nairobi, a distribution hub at Nigeria’s Lagos Free Zone, and expanded flavour creation capabilities in Johannesburg, South Africa.

“The opening of our destination marketing office is an important step in strengthening ADM’s presence across Africa,” said Erdal Kurban, President, Africa & Middle East, and Vice President, Sales, EMEA Flavors. He highlighted that closer engagement with customers would allow the company to better understand local market dynamics, respond more effectively to changing needs and provide access to ADM’s global capabilities.

The expansion builds on ADM’s extensive destination marketing network, which handled approximately 31 million metric tons in 2025, demonstrating the company’s scale and capacity to connect supply and demand efficiently across major international markets.
