The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture confirmed that 95% of the Kingdom’s milk production is covered by the “Saudi GAP” quality label, reflecting producers’ commitment to applying the highest standards of quality and food safety, and ensuring that local products comply with national and international specifications.
The Ministry added that, according to official statistics, raw milk production from specialized dairy cattle projects exceeded 2.7 billion liters in 2024. The Riyadh Region ranked first with 1.6 billion liters, followed by the Eastern Region with 1.1 billion liters, while the number of dairy cows in these projects reached approximately 233,000 head.

The Ministry revealed that the campaign highlights the importance of adopting Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) across all stages of agricultural production, as a cornerstone for ensuring food quality and safety, improving the management of agricultural inputs, supporting farmers and technicians, enhancing their technical and professional skills, and encouraging innovation and the adoption of modern technologies—thereby strengthening the sustainability of the Kingdom’s food security system.

Through the accreditation of the “Saudi GAP” quality label, the Ministry seeks to enhance the reliability of food safety standards and deepen consumer confidence in local products. “Saudi GAP” is one of the Ministry’s initiatives aimed at promoting the concept of sustainable agricultural practices, increasing both the volume and quality of plant and animal production, boosting the competitiveness of local products, and contributing to the achievement of Saudi Vision 2030 goals.
