His Excellency the Vice Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Eng. Mansour bin Hilal Al-Mushaiti, today launched the Camel Passport issuance projectโa qualitative step by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture aimed at organizing the camel sector, documenting identity, enhancing service efficiency, and strengthening its reliability in local and international markets, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
The project comes as part of the Ministryโs efforts, through the National Program for the Development of the Livestock and Fisheries Sector, to develop and regulate the camel sector. Stemming from the importance of providing unified digital and regulatory tools to serve this vital sector, the project aims to document camel data, ownership, and breeds, and link them to verified health and regulatory information. The passport will serve as an officially approved reference that contributes to enhancing service efficiency, increasing the reliability of transactions, and ensuring effective veterinary and regulatory response.
The Ministry explained that the Camel Passport is a comprehensive identification document, containing the microchip number, passport number, camel name, date of birth, breed, sex, color, place of birth, and date and destination of issuance, in addition to photographs of the animal from both the right and left sides, ensuring accurate documentation of its identity.
