A’Saffa Foods Doubles Production to 60 Million Birds Annually to Boost Food Security and GCC Exports
A’Saffa Foods has achieved a strategic leap in its operational processes following the inauguration of its new expansion, which raised its broiler chicken production capacity to nearly 60 million birds per year, with a processing and slaughtering capacity reaching 200,000 birds per day. This step aims to meet growing domestic demand and aggressively expand into Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) markets.
The expansion relies on the company’s comprehensive infrastructure to secure supply chains and ensure product quality from farm to table:
-
Farms: Approximately 225 broiler chicken farms accommodating 60 million birds.
-
Hatcheries: A capacity reaching 72 million eggs per year.
-
Feed: Dedicated mills producing 130,000 metric tons annually.
In this context, Hamdoon bin Abdullah Al Shaqsi, Chief Commercial Officer at A’Saffa Foods, emphasized that integration among feed, hatcheries, breeding, and distribution grants the company higher operational efficiency, greater quality control, and optimized resource utilization.
Automation and data-driven smart solutions form a fundamental pillar of the company’s new strategy. These modern technologies contribute to:
-
Improving the management of farms, hatcheries, and feed mills.
-
Monitoring production processes and analyzing data in real time.
-
Raising productivity rates and reducing waste.
-
Rationalizing water, energy, and feed consumption.
The impact of this expansion extends beyond the company to support the national economy by:
-
Consolidating Food Security: Reducing reliance on imports and achieving supply chain stability.
-
Stimulating Supporting Sectors: Boosting transport, refrigeration, packaging, logistics, and veterinary services.
-
Regional Growth: Leveraging competitive advantage to expand in GCC markets as the natural extension for Omani products.
